The Dodge Challenger is a vehicle brand that has seen three generations, two of which are pony cars. From model years 1970 to 1974, the first-generation Challenger, a pony car, was built on the Chrysler E platform and shared major parts with the Plymouth Barracuda. The second generation, from 1978 to 1983, was essentially a rebranded Mitsubishi Galant Lambda compact car.
