The Dodge Challenger, manufactured by Dodge under Chrysler, has seen three generations of vehicles. The first iteration, from '58-'59, was named Dodge Silver Challenger; the second, 1978-1983, was a Mitsubishi Galant Lambda under a different name. The third and current generation, since 2008, competes with Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro as a pony car built on Chrysler E platform, sharing parts with Plymouth Barracuda in its first generation.
