A dodecahedral shadow-throwing lamp crafted from 3mm plywood via laser cutting techniques. Detailed project information can be found at https://fablab-wuerzburg.de/projekte/dodekaeder-lampe. For the light source, a compact 10W halogen lamp is employed. As different lamp sockets exist, users must design their own customized socket. A prototype of this socket can be downloaded from "lamp_socket.dxf". To produce this dodecahedral lamp, you will need to cut out specific parts using a laser cutter with a minimum working area of 500mm x 300mm. All necessary parts can be found in the "all_parts_X"-dxf files. Alternatively, users may choose to modify certain components by accessing individual part dxf-files. Here is a list of required parts: - 11 instances of "face.dxf" - 1 instance of "bottom.dxf" - 5 instances of "base.dxf" - 100 instances of "joint_face_face.dxf" - 20 instances of "joint_face_bottom.dxf" - 5 instances of "joint_base_base.dxf" - 1 instance of either the original "lamp_socket.dxf" or a modified version Please note that to achieve sharp shadows, it is essential to minimize the size of the light source.
