Dodecahedron exploration
thingiverse
Playing around with dodecahedron (a.k.a. D12). One file is a hint of how to make a D12 from the intersection of 6 cylinders (each contributes 2 opposing faces of the 12). The other files are hubs for creating a dodecahedron from 30 small tubes (about 7mm ID). The support pieces are built into the design and must be cut off with a "flush cutter" before smashing the tubes together. This means you can print without supports at this size, but may need to turn that on (or add more or wider supports) You need 20 joints total, so print the x10 file twice. For other ID tubes between 5 and 12mm you can probably scale this up or down accordingly.
With this file you will be able to print Dodecahedron exploration with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Dodecahedron exploration.
