Dodecahedral Cups

Dodecahedral Cups A local elementary school, Lewis, invited me to showcase 3D design and printing for a large group of young children on their "Discovery Day." I needed designs that were interesting and funny-looking to kids, yet mathematically appealing. The dodecahedron came to mind, which I manipulated a bit to entertain the kids. They look nice and are easy to print. Others might be interested in tinkering with them. Here they are. Among the Files 0. Measurements refer to the circum-radius of a face pentagon (30mm, 20mm). 1. Dodecahedral cup with a handle. 2. Dodecahedral cup with a handle and an integrated straw. 3. Dodecahedral cup with a twisted neck (10mm). 4. Dodecahedral cup with a long twisted neck (30mm). 5. Three cups have "Lewis" on them. Printing 1. PLA filament works well. 2. Flexible TPU can be used to make flexible cups.
