Dodecahedon Hanging Light
thingiverse
My wife spotted a beautiful wooden dodecahedron light fixture at a craft show and I thought to myself, "I can create something similar." But after searching for a dodecahedron model that would work, I realized none of them were suitable, so I designed my own from scratch. To bring this project to life, you'll need to print 12 pentagon-shaped sides, 30 small pins, and one bulb holder. I managed to complete the entire project using a single 1 kg roll of filament - just barely made it. The dodecahedron model and bulb holder are carefully designed to accommodate an Ikea GOTHEM hanging light cord set. My wife and I experimented with a clear LED bulb featuring yellow LEDs, but unfortunately, we found it wasn't bright enough. For better results, I recommend using a simple frosted LED bulb.
