Dodeca-box V2

I'm excited to show off my latest creation, the second version of my 12-leaf, double-layer iris box called the 'Dodeca-box'. The parts are almost identical to those in the first version, but I've made a few key changes that make printing and assembly much easier. Instead of using printed pins and holes, this design uses screws, which simplifies the process significantly. I originally posted this design on MyMiniFactory back in 2017, and now it's available here as well. If you're interested in more iris boxes, be sure to check out my design page on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/BrienAllison/designs. You can also find other designs of mine on MyMiniFactory at https://www.myminifactory.com/users/Brien%20Allison, including an improved version of this design called the Dodeca-Iris Box: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-93298. The unscaled box measures 80mm in diameter overall, has a container opening that's 64mm wide, and stands at 83mm tall. The part files are designed for M2x6 countersunk/flathead screws, and you'll need a total of 48 screws to assemble the box. If you prefer to use larger or smaller screws, don't worry – the parts can be scaled accordingly, such as using M3x8 screws at 150% scale. It's worth noting that buying screws in bulk from a specialist supplier is often cheaper than purchasing them individually. The 'Top Door' part is a simple iris leaf for the top of the box, while the 'Top Door Handle' part is thicker and has a curved extension to make it easier to open the box. I recommend printing at least two 'Top Door Handle' parts (up to a maximum of six) and placing them on opposite sides of the box to ensure easy opening. If you print the 'Top Door Handle' part, some supports may be necessary, but you can avoid them by printing it upside down – just keep in mind that the base layer will become the top surface of the handle part.
