Note there's an updated model available, specifically designed for FDM printing, which can be accessed here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3899464. This design is tailored to provide optimal spring action when printed in strong and flexible plastic. I've optimized it for Shapeways' nylon material, but haven't yet adjusted it for FDM printing. Consider this a work in progress that requires further refinement. For best results, print the model tipped up along the side, using supports for the spring and a brim at the small base to ensure durability.
