Doctor Who TARDIS with windows
thingiverse
This project is all about Gossamer's and nopoe's creativity; I merely cut out the windows for illumination and provided a lighting guide. The label JPGs are available in the compressed file. Instead of this model, consider printing the new TARDIS Deluxe Kit: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:124033. This project generally prints well but may need more shells or fill to avoid layer splitting at corners. Optional items include a clear straw for LED shade, a 9V battery clip from Radio Shack, a small switch (Radio Shack #275-0409), and foil as a light reflector. Various materials can be used for window lighting, such as professional lighting gel, thin paper or wax paper. Inside the TARDIS, space is limited, so precision is crucial when cutting windows. LED placement is shown in the provided picture; I flattened the top light, covered it with a straw for diffusion and used super glue to secure it. A cap for this setup will be uploaded later. Determine the resistor value for the LEDs using this online tool: http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz. For attachment, use Gorilla Glue on the 9V clip and switch. If you have access to a PTouch printer, print the top label with 1/4" tape and door plaque with 1" tape using provided JPGs. Don't forget to follow instructions carefully!
