Doctor Who Confession Dial (Opening)
pinshape
The Twelfth Doctor's confession dial, meticulously crafted from production art and on-screen prop appearances in Doctor Who series 9, episodes "The Magician's Apprentice" and "Hell Bent", is referred to as the last will and testament of a Time Lord. This detailed model can be used for display purposes. A simpler, more robust closed-only version for display or cosplay is also available for those who prefer a more streamlined design. Please note that all parts are pre-orientated for printing and some require supports to ensure proper structure. Print with at least 0.12mm layer height to achieve the desired level of detail. The base is printed upside down, and the internal cavity requires additional support to maintain its shape. Fit all internal rings before attaching the brim, which can be aligned using three small registration pins. The internal orb should be printed vertically, angled for supports to retain intricate details. It's recommended to fit the orb as the final step once you're satisfied with the finish. This model includes four interchangeable tops that showcase different states of the confession dial: closed, slightly open, more noticeably open, and fully open when all tops are removed. Only one top can be fitted at a time for optimal display. To enhance details and overall appearance, sanding and post-processing are highly recommended on all parts before assembly. The model also includes a printable stand for convenient display purposes. An interesting observation about the prop is that it was first shown in series 9, episode 1: "The Magician's Apprentice" in its slightly opened form, despite not being able to be opened until the Doctor had died. The production art and commercial prop depict the inside of the confession dial differently from how it was actually shown when open in series 9, episode 12: "Hell Bent". In fact, the confession dial was only ever shown closing, never opening.
