I've modified the design with a tripod mount and made a few additional adjustments. For anyone interested in making changes, I've included the STEP file. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the original design for the top, which would have allowed me to make some improvements. However, this is as good as it's going to get with what I had. The XT60 connector is mounted flush on the surface.
