Dock for Nokia DT-900 Qi-charger
thingiverse
To save money, I opted for a Nokia DT-900 Qi charger instead of the costly original Nexus Charging Orb for my Nexus 4 phone. After purchasing this affordable alternative, I created my own personalized dock using it. Currently, all that's left is to add an NFC sticker and a preventative measure against the phone sliding off, which I achieved with double-sided scotch tape in the pictures. For those interested in building their own dock, you can find a detailed model of the DT-900 charger here: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=4cd47586064f801fb08c032bedc99529. Regarding printing, I used a Replicator 2 with specific settings at 0.1mm layer height, 2 shells, and 10% infill at 50mm/sec, which took over seven hours and consumed much filament. Reducing the infill and increasing speed or using a larger layer height could potentially decrease print time and filament usage.
