The structure shown below was identified during construction of the future CUF TEJO hospital located at Alcantara's riverside. The Ribeira de Alcantara vale presents geomorphological features that configure it as a natural port, documented since the 16th century until today. During these works, remains of wooden structures (breakwater) and other materials were found, testifying to this city area's evolution.
