<p>In this modern world of mass online education, document cams are hard to come by, especially affordable ones. This doc cam mount is meant to convert a typical, affordable webcam into a doc cam. It features a clip for holding different types of webcams, standard printer paper width, adjustable height for zoom and focus adjustment, and a pass through slot to facilitate note-taking continuity. There is an added recessed nut and bolt for retaining height if continued use loosens the fit over time, but the original friction fit serves well to hold the webcam. The clip on the gooseneck could be easily modified to hold a phone to be used for this purpose, but the assembly would become very top-heavy, so the base would need to be adjusted to compensate. Being compact and easy to disassemble the model is easily transported so you can quickly migrate from room to room as you strive to escape the sounds of your children while instructing other people's children. Also works well to mount a webcam or other small camera such as a go pro for making tutorial videos or time lapse videos of your own creations with lego or other build materials and kits.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>For the print shown here the base was printed fully dense, the mast and gooseneck were printed with lower densities, though enough to maintain structural rigidity. This is so as to set the center of gravity of the assembly as low as possible to counteract the added weight of the webcam. All other settings were set for speed rather than surface quality. ABS was used for this print. The base will require supports along the bottom due to the pass-through slot, and the goose neck should be printed sideways with supports, though these should be minimal; both of these should be easily cleaned. The mast was designed so as not to require supports if printed flat, which the example in the model is, to ensure a smooth finish in the slot and an ideal fit with the gooseneck.</p>
