Doblo factory - OpenScad modules for building lego-compatible structures
thingiverse
OpenScad modules for creating Playmobile-like Duplo and Lego-compatible structures are available at this [link](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2714). Other related examples include a castle kit ([here](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31284)) and a thesis project board ([here](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:33001)). The work is based on Domonoky's parametric Lego Duplo ([here](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1778)) and Tony Buser's OpenSCAD Bitmap Fonts Module ([here](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2054)). For optimal printing, adjust the settings in OpenScad, use PLA on large objects to prevent warping, and ensure the nozzle is close to the platform during the first layer print. Printing castles require extra caution with the first layer. A YouTube video showcases the process ([here](http://youtu.be/kmPa2irDzjI)). For older printers like Rapman 3.1, specific skeinforge settings are required. PLA temperature is set to 210, with a fan on and raft if necessary. Flow rate should be at least 380 for horizontal structures, while solid surface thickness remains at 4. For the FelixPrinter or similar printers, "normal" SFACT settings work fine. Fabster users can use UMA print styles for filament rolls or official "normal" style for better quality prints. To create mashups using the uploaded blocks, position all parts with Netfabb, export each part, do lettering with Netfabb, and merge with Meshlab as explained in this [tutorial](http://edutechwiki.unige.ch/en/Meshlab_for_RapMan_tutorial).
