Dobby the house elf re-sculpt
thingiverse
The ears were tweaked, thinning out in areas where they needed it most. An update was made to fix this. Hands are now included in the body file, giving Dobby a more complete look. The full body is now a single shell instead of multiple parts merged together due to some print issues that got scaled up. This change should make printing easier. I wanted to print Dobby for my niece's birthday but found Vasilis Katsaros' version on MyMiniFactory, located at https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-dobby-from-harry-potter-full-model-3294. While it's recognizable from a distance, it isn't accurate when compared to reference shots. Most of the rework was done on the head. I didn't spend too much time on it, so most of the changes were getting face anatomy and forms into their right proportions and positions, as much as possible with the existing sculpt. The folds in the cloth were also updated to look more like how real cloth folds. A minor adjustment was made to the legs since they were unfinished and off balance. I really wanted to redo the hands because those pointy nails were creepy. I just softened them a bit instead of completely redoing them. There is both a full version and a broken up version cut at appropriate seams in the model.
