The Digital Gateway to Indiana's Ancient Past: Unveiling the Dolan Collection Digitizing a treasure trove of artifacts, the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum has embarked on a groundbreaking project, shedding new light on the dawn of Indiana archaeology. The Perkioman Broad, a type of stone tool, and Laurel, a durable hardwood, comprise the core material used in this collection, while the Late Archaic period provides a fascinating glimpse into the lives of early Hoosiers. Dana Northam, along with her team of experts, including Hunter Davis, Matthew P. Purtill, and Kevin C. Nolan, has meticulously digitized the Dolan Collection, making it accessible to researchers worldwide. Funded by an Indiana Heritage Support Grant, this ambitious project is a collaborative effort between the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum and Applied Anthropology Laboratories at Ball State University's Department of Anthropology.
