I created this to track health for DnD games and I am sure it can be used for many other games. I have made it with three rings and also using five rings where one ring is a blank. After significant trial and error designing the springs, I found that my springs work extremely well in one direction and have a very satisfying click noise when reaching a new digit. It should snap in place. -put one end on first -then put on the springs, rings and blanks -finally the other end -I like the springs set all in the same direction because the springs strongly favor one movement direction over the other (by design). One of the reasons I love this design is that it is very easy to cut any object into two, and then substract a section of the rod on each end and make it into a unique health tracker. I've used mostly spiders as custom ends (picture included). I included the "End Substraction" STL file for this purpose. Substract 7 mm of this from each end object. Another reason I love this design is that it is versatile. It is very easy to make it shorter or longer to add/remove rings and blanks. Finally, the oval rod in the center is extremely effective at orienting the rings and keeping the springs and blank from spinning. The oval shape prints very well.
