A DNA polymerase is an enzyme that creates DNA molecules from nucleotide components within cells or viruses. An STL file for the Escherichia coli replicative DNA polymerase III's alpha subunit structure was created using VMD software, based on PDB entry 2HNH. The model was successfully printed in polylactic acid (PLA) by a Replicator 2 3D printer with MakerWare 2.2.2.89, featuring standard resolution, 10% infill, two shells, and both raft and support structures.
