<p>This is a simple remix of the <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17343">DNA playset</a> by emmett with looser joints for those that have trouble printing the original. Includes the stl files as well as the modified scad.</p> <p>To cite the original source:</p> <p>«... This is an accurate 35,000,000:1 scale model of DNA. It's a playset because you print out copies of the four nucleotides (A, T, G, and C) and snap them together into whatever sequence you like. »</p> <p>Please look at the original description! This is a beautiful design and very fun for kids!</p> <p>In this remix the internal spacing between snap-on joints has been increased to make the pieces both easier to print and to join together.</p> <p>I tested the pieces using a 0.3mm layer height and with a slight elephant foot and they still fit well enough. The pieces are designed to be printed hollow (for both speed and flexibility): adjust the printing settings to use 2 perimeters, zero infill and zero top/bottom layers.</p> <p>If you have trouble printing those despite the adjustment, don't give up! Try adjusting the first layer compensation to avoid having any sort of squash. Try lowering the layer height to something smaller (0.2 or 0.15 recommended) to get better tolerances on the joints. If all else fails, print bigger: scale the model to 120%.</p> Category: Biology
