Wide Angle Lens Mount for DLink DCS-932L and Other Ding Webcams I sought to broaden my monitoring perspective by installing a wider angle camera, perfect for keeping tabs on my printer's operation. After stumbling upon an online article about a cheap wide angle lens kit for smartphones, I discovered that another enthusiast had affixed one of the lenses directly to his webcam using only glue. I felt compelled to develop a more permanent and robust solution for this project. A really affordable lens kit was acquired from eBay. The image produced is far from perfect but still greatly superior to the "telephoto" lens included with my DCS-932L webcam. The need for this upgraded design arose because one of the wider angle lenses comes with a small collar that snugly snaps into place within version 1's design, while the other lens (the 0.67x model) lacks this feature and must therefore be mounted using delicate threads. I must confess that I have a preference for the original un-versioned design and if you plan on only utilizing the wide angle lens in the kit available through the provided link, I recommend opting for the original design instead. Update 160119: A version 3 has been added to this design, featuring a 14mm hole specifically tailored for secure lens mounting and boasting an overall material thickness of 1.8mm surrounding the lens itself.
