DKE38 Alexa Echo Dot 2 - Deutscher Kleinempfänger 1938 WW2
thingiverse
The DK38, also known as "Göbbels-Schnauze," played a vital role in the Second World War by spreading fascist propaganda through broadcasting. However, it also made mass communication accessible to ordinary workers in Germany, as it was one of the first affordable devices at the time. As someone who appreciates vintage radios and tube amplifiers, I envisioned combining one of history's oldest propaganda tools with a cutting-edge spy device like the Echo Dot. The result is the "Alexa-Schnauze," a humorous creation that brings a smile to my face. The design of the Alexa-Schnauze enhances the modest sound quality of the Echo Dot 2, making it sound almost as retro as the original DK38. This unique device consists of four main parts: the body, wheel, backwall, and knob. There are two versions of the wheel available - one for FDM printing and a high-resolution version for SLA/ DLP printing. To assemble the Alexa-Schnauze, you'll need three M4x8 screws and an additional set of four M3x10 screws if you choose to attach the backwall. Visually, the device can be upgraded with a dark brown or blackish-brown finish, and the dot cover can be adorned with a silk stocking for a more polished look. If you appreciate my work, I encourage you to like it, print it, and support me in any way you can. In closing, I'd like to spread a message of unity and love. Let's promote peace and equality for all individuals, regardless of their background or beliefs.
