DJIShock - The DualShock thumbstick for DJI Mini 2 drone pilots!
thingiverse
I am a gamer, and I got a DJI Mini 2 drone recently. I did not enjoy the thumbsticks included, as they're pointy and way too long. I'm sure someone out there likes them, but I don't. I wanted something closer to my preference for gaming - the Sony DualShock 4. So, I did a search on here and found... nothing. I fired up FreeCAD to solve my problem myself. I printed these in TPU, cleaned them up as best I could with a razor blade, and screwed them in with 8mm M4 bolts. I was pleasantly surprised that they worked perfectly! I didn't use a hex wrench to tighten them, just the friction from the TPU seemed enough to get it as tight as you could want. You could probably print them in any other material, but TPU gave it a nice feel on the thumbs. PLA or PETG might be fine, but I did not try it - the screw hole might need a bit of cleaning if your printer tolerances or screws are a little different than mine. If you do use a stiffer plastic, you may want to spray/dip them with some PlastiDip to get a nice rubbery texture. If you make these and like them, leave me a comment or post a make! Even better, if you make a remix that adds a Jump button and a Fire trigger, that'd be great!
