DJI Transmitter Stick Extension
thingiverse
This is a design for a stick extension for DJI transmitters which have M4 threads on the control sticks. DJI control sticks are rather short and this can make control slightly less smooth. One way to overcome this is to use an EXP (exponential) function - a feature which traditional radio control pilots will be familiar with. However, EXP is not always available so another method is simply to lengthen the sticks. The stick extension design I have provided here feature 'spikes' on the end which ensure that your fingers don't slip on them so easily if you are using your thumbs to move them. I used a 40mm bolt (which I find is quite long actually) but you can use shorter ones if you like and I include the FreedCAD* design file in case you want to modify the length. To change the length of the body of the extension you can modify the pad called 'Pad for lengthening body'. In addition to the 3D printed parts, to make the sticks you will need two each of: - M4 cap head bolt (I used 40mm long ones) - M4 nyloc nut - M4 washer I printed mine in PLA with an Ultimaker 5 (plain glass bed) set to - 0.1mm layers - 100% infill - No support - No adhesion *If you haven't used FreeCAD it's a free, offline CAD package. It's rather quirky but when you get used to it it's not too bad.
