DJI Spark Propeller Guards 110° assimetric
thingiverse
The new firmware of DJI Spark has greatly expanded the sensing width of its obstacle avoidance system. The Spark consistently identifies obstacles at 0m, leading me to reduce the width of the youngwing propeller guard from 122 degrees to 110 degrees. This adjustment is based on photos I took and measured against the original propeller guard. Important note: You won't need four prints if you already have the old one! To modify your Spark's propeller guard, simply print two new 110-degree versions for the front side and use the older 122-degree version for the back side. Update 2017.12.09 If sunlight illuminates and flashes on an obstacle, it can be detected by the Spark. Therefore, I shifted the protective frame by 10 degrees to compensate. Note: This modification is necessary because the propeller guard is not symmetrical; a left and right version must be printed. Update 2017.12.21 I conducted thorough testing during flight under ideal conditions - bright sunshine and no wind - and confirmed that this mod works flawlessly, even when printed on white plastic!
