The DJI Smart Controller is expensive. The joysticks can be removed for safety - to prevent accidental compression of the controls in bags and such. But, removing the sticks for storage, installing them for every flight, well, gets old and the risk of dropping one into a rock crevice or field of grass and losing it is high. I wanted to keep the sticks attached when stowed in my case. But the case lid could still compress down of the stick causing problems or if the bag got inverted the controller would be resting on the sticks. Solution? Make a stick protector. -- updated 09/13 I did make a minor tweak - the T-beam wasn't connected after thinning the part down - fixed in the current file. Also - a very subtle after print adjustment can help the part fit perfectly flat on the SC. Seems there is a very very small convex on the SC; smaller than a layer height. So I heat the middle of the T-beam with a heat gun for a couple seconds, deform it ever so slightly, then press the piece onto the SC while the bar cools. When done, you can't even see the change, but makes for a perfect firm fit over the SC knobs.
