I modified Giufini's project into two halves for easier printing, but now required glue. I love this "thing" by Giufini - thanks for making it! While printing this (I am a beginner in the craft), I found that my Imaginator 3D did not do well printing the top of the design. Well, I decided to cut it in half (horizontally) using netfabb, and made it into two files. Option 1: DJI_Range_Booster_v1.2_2halves.stl Two halves printing next to each other, and still to be glued after printing. Option 2: DJI_Range_Booster_v1.2_1Half.stl One half of the project; this needs to be printed twice and glued into one part. I used five-second fix, it's a UV glue/bond, and it worked well for me. This is my first post here, hope I didn't break any rules and didn't goof anything up! Enjoy! How I Designed This This was fun! Well, here's my first thing! Based on Giufini's product. What happened is that I printed his overnight, and found that the top did not print out well. Perhaps I simply did not know how to help the printer, but as you see on the image, the top was not happy... So here's what I did: I cut off the top, lost about half an inch or so... Then I started the project again, and aborted about half an inch up. Once this was done, I filed the previous night's print to get it close to a straight line - I didn't do great, but acceptable! I used five-second fix, which is a UV bonding agent, so it was easy to align the part with glue on them, and once I felt it's right, I used a UV LED to solidify the bond. Then I filed it a bit to clean and fit the way I wanted, and coated the inside with copper adhesive foil; I happened to buy it on Amazon for getting rid of slugs in my garden. Hope that my work of cutting it in netfabb and rearranging will help someone to have a nicer glue line than what I got. Hopefully no filing needed, other than just cleaning the edges after printing! As you see on the pictures, mine is not looking great, but I am hoping it will work. I flew my Phantom 3 Advanced in a specific area, and my signal was questionable around three thousand feet, so the next time I have a chance, I will test at the same location, and see if I have significantly better range! Thanks to Giufini for the original design! Happy printing and happy flying! GregT The original print from Giufini My glue job, on my manual cut and paste... The back side On the radio
