DJI Phantom 3 Standard Gimbal Mount - Upgraded
thingiverse
After my Phantom 3 Standard crashed, I was caught off guard by how flimsy the original gimbal mount turned out to be and how difficult it was to track down a replacement. I stepped up to create this one for others who find themselves in the same boat. The holes and extrusions are mostly identical to the original, though slightly simpler on the backside and about 3/16" thicker for extra strength added. How I Came Up with This Design After carefully gluing the original back together, I snapped a photo of it with a ruler in the shot to get an idea of its size. I used that scan as a raster reference image in AutoCAD, where I brought it to life in 2D. From there, the DWG was loaded into Sketchup Pro 2014 to render it in 3D, then exported to SLT, and finally fed into the GCODE generator.
