DJI Phantom 3 Gimbal Guard (Standard, 4K, Advanced, Professional compatible)
thingiverse
As I found the DJI Phantom 3 gimbal guards already posted here over-engineered, I decided to purchase the best reviewed gimbal guard on Amazon (Skyreat Phantom 3 Gimbal Guard) to get the dimensions and design a simple yet effective 3D printable version of that gimbal guard. I designed several versions of this guard to fit most use cases. The options include: -gimbalguard3.2.stl: 2mm thick, cutouts to reduce weight (very flexible) -gimbalguard3.3.stl: Same as above but with a thickness of 3mm for added rigidity -gimbalguard3.4.1.stl: 3mm thick with 5mm cross-brace for added rigidity (see image) -gimbalguard3.4.2.stl: Same as above but with fewer cutouts for added rigidity To secure the guard to the landing gear, use zip ties in the appropriate cutouts. The cutouts fit standard and smaller sized zip ties. Please feel free to offer feedback and post pics of your creations. Thanks! Print Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: N/A Infill: Up to you Notes: For a 150x150mm print bed, the skirt will have to be disabled or set to a minimal distance. This can be accomplished in Cura by editing the Expert Settings (Expert>Open expert settings on OS X). This thing will also need to be rotated 45° to fit on a 150x150mm bed (the total length is 163mm, and the hypotenuse of a 100x100mm bed is ~141.4, so there's no way to make this fit on a 100x100mm bed that I know of---sorry). Infill should be set to whatever value you desire. The more infill, the more weight and rigidity.
