SEE NEWER VERSION:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:652288 \nVideo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moQvwmy9Z-0\nFound a pesky problem with the left front skid on a Vision + as it comes into the field of view. That issue doesn't occur on my other carbon fiber skid, because it's closer to the camera. It might not happen on a standard vision because that camera is more centered.\nStill, this remains the most stable skid around due to its wide stance front to rear and side to side. The design is lightweight and low drag. More testing compared to my other designs needs to be done.\nI highly recommend using 7-7.5" carbon fiber rods or tubes for the skids.\n3.5: .078" carbon rod or tube should be used for the two antennas, while 4-4.5" rods work well for the compass mount. \nWatch the video of the skid mount being made here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yADLJQopxuo \nRevision 11/11/14 added new assembly drawing and shortened mounting brackets for .078 (~2mm) rod use in antenna locations, along with round foot pads that eliminate aligning like flat ones do.\nRevision 11/07/14:\nRevised compass mounts and included compass mount instructions in Gallery pics. \nRevision 11/05/14: \nAdded optional stock compass mount adapter to the design. Use your existing clamp to attach your compass module directly. Ensure the flat side on the adapter aligns front and rear. GALLERY has these detailed steps. If not aligned with +Z (up) and +X (front) on your drone, the skid is probably upside down.\nIf anyone with the new shielded compass module provides some dimensions, a mount will be designed to match those specs. \nThe design utilized two motor mount screws for mounting carbon fiber rods as skids; those longer M3 x .5 x 12mm screws should be used - eight in total (the prop guards require the same size).\nMounting brackets are needed four of them, with three placed where the stock feet attach to secure the compass and antennas mounts.\nThe design is a bit sturdier than required but repurposed parts from other designs were used. Carbon fiber rods measuring 3 inches (75mm) .125" (.0031 inch) should be ordered for the compass mount and two antenna wires, and four more rods in this measurement are necessary for legs to secure the vehicle firmly on ground level; there's also enough space between them and camera to safely place drone down without damaging it. You can change these leg length based on specific drone size you plan use with your skid.\nThe mounting brackets for legs all include holes for connecting using quick release features but if not preferred, they may just press fit together or even use adhesive to secure in place.
