Dji Phantom 1 Extended Battery Door
thingiverse
I had a mishap with my Phantom 1 in a crash, which left its original battery door non-functional due to some damage. To rectify the situation, I designed this new replacement/upgrade for the old one. It boasts an ingenious feature: a slot that allows you to wrap a rubber band around it and secure it inside. The latch, printed separately, is then placed between the rubber band's two parts. This clever setup ensures a snug and perfect fit. To open the door, simply press down on the latch and voila! The holes were a bit loose when I printed with 1.75mm filament, but that didn't pose any issues. I used the original pin to attach the door, and with the rubber band in place, I was able to do without any adhesive on the filament pin. To make printing easier, I designed it flat so it could be printed on its side. Printing at a .3 layer height, 10% infill, and zig zag supports made the process smooth sailing. Everything came together pretty seamlessly.
