This is a rig designed specifically for remote control of the DJI Mavic Air 2, featuring a magnetic frame perfectly suited for the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9. The rig securely attaches to the controller via four M4 bolts and nuts, providing a solid hold that ensures stability during operation. Four M4 nuts are strategically printed onto each part, allowing users to easily attach additional components as needed. On top of the frame, users can fasten an assembly specifically designed to hold their iPad in place, ensuring a seamless viewing experience. The magnetic frame itself consists of two parts, making it possible to print on even the smallest 235x235mm beds of an Ender 3 printer, despite requiring less space than initially thought. Four spaces are reserved for gluing in round magnets measuring 8x4mm in size. To ensure proper orientation, users must carefully test their setup on the iPad before securing the magnets in place. Two magnets should be placed side by side with opposing orientations to achieve optimal results. Additionally, holes have been designed for attaching melt-in threads to either side of the frame. Users will need to drill these open to the correct size, 5.5mm for M4 threads, prior to assembly. A glare shield specifically designed for this rig can be attached to these threads later on. The total weight of the parts, including the 600 gram iPad, comes in at approximately 1400 grams. This means that the printed components weigh around 300 grams, made possible by using high-quality Formfutura Carbonfil filament. The design specifications for printing include a layer height of 0.24mm and a nozzle width of 0.6mm. For those interested in further customization, I have uploaded the assembly to Solidworks 2018 as part of the controller.zip file. Models can be made available in alternative filetypes upon request.
