DJI CrystalSky Mount for Mavic 2 & Phantom 4 (with mods)

Update: I've created an improved mount for the Mavic and P4 that can be found here: P4 - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3791014 Mavic - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3791049 The knob and the base plate for the CrystalSky are remixed from evil_k's design, while the Mavic controller plate is of my own creation. I tried to remix/design this to be pretty strong but don't have much experience with that type of engineering so use this at your own risk. If you have any suggestions for ways to make it better let me know! evil_k's base plate uses a 4mm screw which I couldn't get locally, so I re-created the base plate and knob to accept 5mm, and since I'm using a CrystalSky 7.85" I wanted to beef everything up a little for the extra size and weight. I also added a hard stop to the back of the mount to keep the screen from flopping all the way back. If you are using this on your Phantom, you will need to modify the hole on your controller bracket to fit the 5mm screw. I have a Phantom 4 Pro which has an aluminum bracket on the controller and was very easy to open up with a drill press. After opening up the hole, I put the original DJI phone/tablet holder back on the controller and it works fine; you'd never know the hole was bigger. PLEASE NOTE: It looks like older Phantom controllers have a plastic bracket if that's the case, I'm not sure I would recommend making the modification necessary to that one as you might weaken or crack the plastic. Stick with evil_k's original 4mm design. While I was at it, I decided to also make a plate to fit my Mavic controller that would work with the same CrystalSky base plate. It's sized to be a pretty snug fit into the controller arms both side to side and top to bottom, including a protruding front that fits nicely within the rubber that holds the removable sticks. The bottom of the plate fits just within the rubber on the bottom of the controller handles so that it can't slide out of the bottom. The opening for the screw on the knob and nut on the mount are tight by design; you should be able to press them in with a screwdriver/pliers or by tightening the nut to draw in the screw. You will need: Two M5 x 12mm machine screws. I also like to add a washer to spread the strain a little better across the plastic. One M5 x 30mm machine screw with hex head (25mm might still work but since I made everything a little thicker, I went with 30mm). One M5 nut
