DJ R-3X, also known as Rex, flew Starspeeders for Star Tours until he piloted his ship into a battle between the Imperial Navy and Rebel Alliance forces. Although no one was injured in the incident, the accident led to Rex's termination from his job at Star Tours. Following his firing, Rex began working as an Alliance cargo pilot and claimed to have participated in the Battle of Jakku. Later on, Rex crash-landed on Batuu, where he was reprogrammed into a DJ by Mubo at the Droid Depot. His appearance was slightly modified during this process. Afterward, Mubo gave the droid to Oga Garra as payment for an outstanding debt, and "DJ Rex" started providing music for Oga's Cantina. Rex's character model was created by Steve West for T4 Intro to 3D at Platt College.
