DIY Sodastream Carbonator Base

A base for mounting a 60L sodastream cannister for a DIY carbonator. You need to get an appropriate gas regulator, adapters to connect the sodastream CO2 cannisters to the regulator, a hose that can withstand the pressures you'll be using, and an adapter for the kind of bottle you want to carbonate. You can find some guides online for "DIY carbonators" or "DIY sodastream". I use this adapter to carbonate ordinary soda/pop bottles: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07K153CK2 WARNING: working with pressurized gases can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. I designed this so the bottles are inserted with the nozzle down. This helps mix in the CO2 a bit as it's releasing the gas into the bottle. The procedure to use is simple: turn the regulator's knob to pressurize to the level that's safe for your bottle, insert the bottle into the carbonation cap, let pressure equalize, take the bottle out and shake it (the harder the better), and repeat as many times as needed to achieve level of carbonation you like. Colder liquids apparently carbonate, so use cold water. I've also carbonated white wine, so take your favourite white wine and give it a new dimension!
