DIY SmartBlinds v1 - Vertical or Horizontal Blinds Automation Project

thingiverse

This is a DIY project that requires electronics, soldering, the Arduino IDE, and basic knowledge of uploading code to a compatible board. You can follow all the relevant step-by-step instructions on my blog page here: http://www.candco.com.au/2019/03/10/diy-vertical-or-horizontal-blinds-automation-project/ To complete this project, you will need to source the following components: * A 5V Stepper Motor (28BYJ-48) with a Drive Test Module Board ULN2003 * A WiFi NodeMCU CP2102 Development Board that operates on 2.4GHz frequency * M2.5 x 8mm long Counter sunk screws in quantities of eight * M2.5 x 8mm button cap screws, either four or eight, for internal PCB mounts * One or two M4 x 5mm long Steel Hex Grub screws for securing the cog mount to the motor shaft * A 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC power plug * A 5v Power Supply with a 2.1mm DC plug The total cost of this project should not exceed $20-$25 AUD. I have designed the base so that it can be printed upright and without supports, but this may require some level of 3D printing experience. The only component that I would recommend printing with supports is the chain cog due to its dimples on the inside. For optimal results, print the base on its largest flat surface. You can check out my DIY SmartBlinds v2 project here: https://www.candco.com.au/2019/10/25/diy-smartblinds-v2/ UPDATE: I am currently working on DIY SmartBlinds v3, powered by a Nema14 stepper motor, which will make this design five times more powerful.
