DIY Simple Table
myminifactory
The name says it all. STLs for download are fixtures/joints that anyone can use to create their own stylish table. The simple table is fully customizable, requiring only a cut of timber to desired dimensions. For instance, I created this project because I needed plinths for my end-of-year Honours exhibition, and now they're used throughout the house as coffee tables. I hope people will find the simple table useful, and please share your results with me here or on any of my social media platforms (@InIteration - Instagram, Twitter, Facebook). Seeing others enjoy my designs drives me to create more. Instructions: The joints are designed to fit with: 25mm wooden dowels as legs 8mm x 30mm wooden strips for beams 6mm MDF sheet for the tabletop Cut wooden strips and dowels to desired lengths, then insert them into the 3D printed joints. The 3D printed parts have small holes on the inside so they can be nailed without splitting the layers. A little shoe glue in the 'table top joints' is useful for keeping everything secure. Cut the MDF to the correct size, and fit it into the top of the structure. The table is nearly complete from there, but nails through the top of the board into the joints will help keep the table stable. The joints have been designed with a 0.5mm tolerance surrounding the dowels and wooden strips, which works for my UP! 3D printers. However, different printers may produce varying quality results, and not all timber cuts are perfect, making the joints tight. Some sanding may be necessary, use your best judgment, and be careful not to split the 3D printed parts.
