DIY MYOELECTRIC ARM is a project created by the 3D Materialization Foundation, in collaboration with Andrés Tolosa, Javier Garzón, John Bejarano, and Cristina Acevedo. The model is based on various open-source designs, including Steve Wood's Flexy arm and hand, the RIT arm from Rochester Institute of Technology, and the MyPO by PO Paraguay. The work was developed in partnership with E-Nable Colombia and the 3D Materialization Foundation in Bogotá, Colombia. All files related to this project are covered under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license and may be used for non-commercial purposes, provided proper attribution is given. Parents and children involved in the study were fully informed about the research and development process. Children aged 3-16 provided written consent, accompanied by their parents, who also gave their own consent to participate in the study. The research team obtained parental consent to publish photos and videos of the project, as well as detailed safety guidelines for using and caring for the prosthetic arm. The fingers and forearm are printed with Flexy material, while the hand, arm, and other parts are made from PLA.
