Belt Clearance Setup for DIY PrintRite Inspired by Hughee's Design Customizing Idlers Based on Bearing Type I create a customizer for the idlers, depending on what kind of bearing is used. This setup can be combined with the motor's mount. Tips and Notes The pulley of the X-axis motor was installed on the wrong side from the factory for an unknown reason. To correct this, it should be set up like this: About Idlers and Customizer I choose to capture bearings in the idlers by printing infill first. This is a good tip to achieve a secure fit. For my setup, I used a 625Z bearing at the end of the X-axis for the Home idler and a 608Z bearing for the end idler. If you have different bearings or don't want to capture them, use the customizer. Motor's Mount Only three screws should be used on the original motor's mount for optimal performance. The "flying" idler works well in this configuration. Alternatively, you can print a custom motor's mount.
