This is a remix of Fan Duct v3 by thedayowl. I created it for two reasons: Firstly, it provides me with better results on overhangs along the X and Y axes. Secondly, it allows for temperature control since I replaced my nozzle with this one - which prints really well at a low cost but has a 10.5mm head height. However, this resulted in some issues controlling the hot end temp as the fan duct was cooling the nozzle too much. For this reason, it may not fit with original nozzles. The mounting system from thedayowl is still used, which works perfectly as you can adjust the height of the duct. This print doesn't need any support but there are several bridges to navigate. Edit 03/05/16: Version V.003 U-shape upgrade has been added for a more convergent air flow. However, this version needs support. Version V.004 Sewing-machine-socket shape is an upgrade of V.003 with the addition of LEDs. It features a slot for two 5050LED series connected and a cable path. You will also need to add a resistance between 550 and 650 Ohms. This version also requires support. Edit 07/06/16: Version V005 has been released. The new version features only two ducts, divided into two parts, making it easier to mount or unmount for cleaning or changing the nozzle. This design provides more clearance and reduces the risk of melting. Air flow is significantly improved. However, this print requires advanced bridge skills as there is no support needed. Horizontal walls are 0.8mm thick, so be sure to set a layer height that fits (0.1, 0.16 or 0.2). This design needs two M3*8mm screws and nuts for assembly. A slot for two 5050 LEDs remains intact. Walter's PLA cooling tower test has been successfully completed using this design. Additionally, Walter's Overhang Test Print also utilizes this fan duct design with great results. Edit 07/2016: I'm very happy with the latest version and have decided not to continue making changes.
