DIY PolySmooth Polisher remix

DIY PolySmooth Polisher remix

I've remixed the fantastic work from Chiz and created my own version, making some changes for several reasons: 1) In Australia, I couldn't find the same items in the original BOM; instead, I used parts from Kmart or spare parts from previous projects. 2) I wanted a simple design that I could control with switches rather than automated programs. 3) I wasn't a fan of the Tupperware look since I plan to keep this device on my desk. I've posted some photos and part designs; if someone shows interest, I'll prepare more detailed instructions/BOM. This device only works with PolySmooth filament and ethanol higher than 90% like the original Polysher or Chiz's version. After testing, I added a small fan to create an ethanol airflow that improved polishing uniformity by mounting it on a support I designed at a good angle. The main items are (I'll post URLs if someone from OZ is interested): - Plastic top - a 4-liter food container from Kmart - Wooden bottom - a bamboo container from Kmart (I'll make a printable version as well) - Lid/plate/base - printed - 5v stepper motor + driver - Amazon - Stepper holder - printed - Arduino (nano or due) - Amazon - 2 Standard Switches - Amazon - Button - Amazon - Button cover - printed - Humidifier - MINISO shop, $15 disassembled (any 5v humidifier is fine; similar to Chiz's version), with its own liquid container - Shaft (8mm metal standard shaft) - Amazon - Shaft to base connector - printed - Shaft to motor connector - printed - 12v fan - powered at 5v to run slowly, from Amazon - Fan mount - printed - 5v power supply - Amazon The inside appears messy because I kept the wires long for easy disassembly of the plate. The actual wiring is simple; if needed, I'll provide it. NOTE: I'm still publishing STL files and planning to replace the bamboo bottom with a printed version that I will publish.
