DIY Pixelstick substitute for light painting improved
thingiverse
Newer version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4815316 Using a small PCB I have reduced the size of the original and improved the wiring so it is mostly enclosed and simplified. Everything else is the same as the original version. More details and models will be published here soon. One important thing to notice is that I removed the original connectors from the WS2812 LED strips. I reversed the connectors so that I could mount the correct one in the handle box. This connector was originally the input side to the LED strip. I also wanted to mount the wires so they went sideways which gave better clearance for the second LED strip. The PCB is available from me or you can order from here: https://oshwlab.com/MartinNohr/led-image-painter_copy_copy NOTE: there is an error on this board, R2 needs to be removed. I will post a new and improved version eventually. The new board will have the SD socket already installed so it won't need to be purchased or soldered on. There is a wiring difference between the schematic and the actual PCB. It is accounted for in the software so it does work. The new PCB being designed will fix this. It will be available in January 2021. It requires a new version of the STL for the case since the SD reader is in a different location. *** SPECIAL *** I have 4 boards assembled and tested of the current design. They have the latest software already installed. I can sell them for $40(+shipping). All you need to do is print the parts, solder the wiring harness, and assemble the LED parts. I added body1.stl and body2.stl for people that can't print the base in one part.
