Living in a secluded area where an eagle could swoop down at any moment and take my 60-pound dog away is quite dangerous. This has forced me to create sturdy, eagle-proof foam armor for my dog, Mya. Now, Mya deserves the best armor, so I decided to make it out of expensive craft foam found at rare craft stores like Walmart or Amazon. While you're reading this, I hope you have a sense of humor because I'm new to making projects for pets. This build cost around $7 and took about 5 hours. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: This won't offer protection against wild animals, mosquitoes, flies, or eagles. I just wanted Mya to look cool and fabulous. Step 1: Supplies I used the following materials: * Acrylic paint * Craft foam (6mm) * Paintbrushes * Paper towels * Diverse size googly eyes * Hot glue * Scissors or exacto knives * Paper for patterning * Cat brush * Silver Rub and Buff * Velcro * Yarn * Optional: heat gun Step 2: Patterning and Initial Sketches I had no clue what to do at first, but I made my own doggy armor because I couldn't find any online that I liked. My dog, Karl, sat patiently while I adjusted the pattern. He was a sport about it and let me continually put the pattern on him and take it off to tweak until it was just right.
