DIY LCD screen Frame Parts
thingiverse
I salvaged a working old laptop LCD screen and repurposed it as an external display for my laptop. The standard size is 15.4 inches, with a thickness of just 6.5 millimeters. Most screens are roughly the same thickness, between 6 to 7 millimeters. If you can get the "Frame5x5" design to fit, the rest of the parts should fall into place easily. I ordered an LCD controller board from Amazon for $25, and I recommend checking out other online retailers like eBay or AliExpress as well. Just make sure the board is compatible with your specific LCD screen. You can find plenty of DIY LCD screen project tutorials on YouTube to guide you through the process. My files should be helpful in getting your project off the ground. Be aware that some of these files are specifically related to my controller board, so double-check before printing anything out.
