DIY Humming Bird Feeder

Some parts for a simple DIY Hummingbird feeder are included. Assembly is required. It's not completely 3D printed, but the non-printed parts can be bought for a total of twenty-five cents or less. To make it, you will need some Dollar Tree food containers (because they cost five dollars per dollar), an empty bottle, a utility knife or Exacto knife or sharp scissors, and a hot melt glue gun. Some masking tape is also helpful. Print as many flowers as you want. I print four, but you can use any number that will fit on the lid. Or use one. The birds at my house fight over these anyway.... And one perch. I just print all 5 parts at once. Print the perch with the feet pointing up. Take the lid and the bottle and place the bottle on the lid with the opening on the lid. Trace around the opening using the masking tape as a guide. The masking tape also helps keep the lid from cracking or accidentally getting cut too far. Once you have a nice circle, cut out the circle from the lid. I like the lid to fit up against the wide thick part of the bottle just past the threads for the cap. You can see it in the close-up picture. Set the bottle aside for now. Use a small amount of glue and attach the flowers to the lid. Once the glue is set, poke a hole through the lid and the middle of the flower using an Exacto knife as a drill from the bottom of the lid. Try not to leave any sharp edges or anything that the birdies can cut themselves on. Use another small amount of glue on each of the feet of the perch and attach it to the lid. I actually set the perch on the lid and attach the feet one by one, adjusting them as you go. Now take the bottle and apply a good bead of hot glue around the wide part where the lid will fit. Place the lid on and hold it until the hot melt glue sets. Give it a good minute or two. You really want a strong bond here. That's really it basically. I have taken string or twine and made hangers to hang them, but usually I just set them on the railing of my porch. EDIT: I created a different perch that sticks straight out instead of up. I think I like it better. It's called Perch2.stl. The yellow one in the pictures. THE BEER-WARE LICENSE (Revision 42): https://www.thingiverse.com/kwg08/ wrote this file.
