DIY Guitar Stand
thingiverse
I haven't picked up my guitar in years; it's been collecting dust in its case on the closet shelf. If only it were sitting in the computer room, where I spend most of my time, I'd be more inclined to grab it and start messing around with it. The idea struck me: why not build a guitar stand for it? Of course, I could've just ordered one from Amazon, but that would've been too easy. Besides, this project turned out so much better than those flimsy $10 stands you can find online. This stand is built using five wooden dowels cut to precise lengths: two at 3 inches, two at 5 inches, one at 7 inches, and two more at 10 inches. However, the tolerances on dowels from your local hobby store may vary, so you might encounter some that are thinner or thicker than expected. To ensure a snug fit, I applied glue to some of my pieces; others needed only slight adjustments to fit perfectly. You may need to use glue too, depending on the quality of your dowels.
