This is a shameless copy of a great design I started out looking for decent quality breadboards. I couldn't find much. I had a bunch of 20 dual row round pin header sockets. I decided to see if I could make use of them. I went for a modest approach. I kept the layout as close as possible to a 1/2 size standard breadboard one might get off eBay. With the use of more pin sockets I was able to put 2 boards together Wiring was fairly easy. From what I have read these sockets are only good for about 7 re-insertions. I tried plugging and unplugging connectors into the board 30 times. I couldn't detect any loss of grabbing force at the end of the test. From my understanding the round pin sockets are mil-spec grade due to their design. Just from my initial observations these are vastly superior to all of the breadboards on the market currently. The sockets I used I think we're Thomas and Betts brand. Any cheap ones from eBay will be ok. All I did was to alter the dimensions some and add separators. This design is very easy to alter to suit different sized layouts. The plastic spacers can be adjusted to ensure proper fitting of all the components. All credit goes to the original designer, the_grandson. Thanks.
