DIY 3D Scanner Remix

DIY 3D Scanner Remix

thingiverse

Here is a remix of SuperMakeSomething's 3D scanner that has only undergone mild modifications, primarily to the stepper motor holders. These components have been redesigned as two separate parts with pilot holes for easy attachment to a plank of wood or sheet of Perspex. This design tweak provides more flexibility in setting the distance between the scanner and the turntable, particularly useful when using an IR sensor with a minimum distance of 2cm is not feasible. Most IR sensors I've come across require at least 5cm of clearance, making this modification a welcome improvement. For detailed hardware specifications and requirements, please consult the original source file for this build. Future updates may include modifications to the scanner plate, ideally in the form of a bracket that can be securely attached to a piece of laminate or aluminum.
