Here's a super simple modification I made to my desk lamp that allowed me to attach a 36W UVC germicidal tube, commonly found in HVAC systems, directly to my desk lamp. This DIY project requires only 5 parts and can be optionally connected to an Alexa or Google enabled smart plug for remote control capabilities. I use it at both my office desk and workbench, remotely triggering the lamp before arriving at the office. The lamp itself is well-reviewed and totally worth purchasing on its own, offering a fair price and smooth performance. I've had mine for over a year now and remain very satisfied with its performance. I utilize this modified lamp to supplement my regular cleaning routine during these Coronavirus times. Compared to other similar products like the Honeywell UV100A1059, which costs around $240, my DIY project comes in at under $40, making it an attractive alternative for those on a budget.
