A friend of mine is somewhat obsessed with dividers (in a manner similar to the author of this piece: https://bigjumppress.wordpress.com/2014/09/30/divide-my-heart-an-ode-to-my-favorite-tool/), so I adapted LoboCNC's excellent print in place compass so that it measures and transfers distance rather than drawing circles. It was a simple matter to mirror the pointed end in Openscad so that both arms are symmetrical. The only improvement I can think of is adding holes for sewing pins or something so that it will actually stab through papers rather than indent.
